Immersion Silver Surface Finish

IPC Code: IAg

Immersion Silver (also called immersion Ag) is a RoHS compliant (lead-free) surface finish that is an ideal choice for flat surface requirements and fine pitch components It’s also an ideal choice for special applications that want to avoid any magnetic materials in the PCB.

Immersion silver is applied directly over copper and provides an excellent solderable surface and as an HASL replacement.  It is used commonly for metallic dome contacts, membrane switches, EMI shielding, and aluminum wire bonding.

Versatility and Magnetism: Immersion Silver in PCB Applications

Immersion Silver, also known as immersion Ag, is a RoHS-compliant surface finish renowned for its versatility in meeting flat surface requirements and accommodating fine-pitch components.

Notably, it serves as an optimal choice for specialized applications seeking to avoid any magnetic materials within the PCB structure, thus ensuring enhanced performance and reliability in electronic assemblies.

Enhanced Solderability and Versatility of Immersion Silver

The direct application of Immersion Silver onto copper substrates not only facilitates the creation of an exceptional solderable surface but also serves as a viable replacement for Hot Air Solder Leveling (HASL) processes, offering a seamless transition to advanced surface finishing techniques in modern electronics manufacturing.

Compliance and Quality Assurance: IPC-4553 Standards

Immersion Silver is utilized beyond conventional soldering applications, finding widespread use in intricate components such as metallic contacts, membrane switches, and EMI shielding mechanisms.

By adhering to the stringent stipulations outlined in IPC-4553, Superior Processing’s Immersion Silver solution guarantees compliance with industry standards, ensuring consistent quality and performance across electronic assemblies.

Customization and Precision: Tailoring Immersion Silver Thickness

In addition to the standardized thickness guidelines stipulated by IPC-4553, Superior Processing prides itself on accommodating varying customer specifications and tailoring immersion silver applications to meet specific performance criteria and application demands.

This flexibility in thickness customization accentuates our commitment to providing customized solutions that align with individual project requirements, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability in electronic components.
